Frequently Asked Questions
WHERE CAN WE SEE YOUR REVIEWS?
WHAT DO YOU TEACH THE CHILDREN?
Our approach to early learning means we focus not only on school readiness for transition to kindergarten, but also on preparing your child with skills for life. We support children’s interests and extend on these interests to provide children opportunities for further exploration and learning. This allows a child to develop confidence, express themselves creatively and grow a sense of self-identity and belonging.
Besides individual exploration, children also learn socialisation skills through co-operation, building relationships, and engaging in a group. The daily program is made up of group times and learning areas that involve the children to broaden their learning and development. Children lead the program, while staff are there to support and guide the play and learning involved. Detailed reports are shared with you daily on parent app ‘KindyHub’, and individual child observations sent to you monthly on ‘KindyHub’.

WHAT DO CHILDREN EAT DURING THE DAY?
Kids Gourmet Food (KGF) provides all meals to SOCCS on a daily basis for Joeys Room, Kookaburras Room, and Koalas Preschool. We have been using KGF for many years and are extremely happy with their service. KGF includes different menus for children with dietary requirements, such as vegetarian. Their menus are designed to comply with the Australian Dietary Guidelines to ensure they meet ACECQA criteria for children. The food is a mixture of textures, colours, and cultures. Weekly menus are available in the parent app ‘KindyHub’ along with other essential information for our families.
WHAT IS THE ENROLMENT PROCESS?
Please submit the Waitlist form with the red asterisk* marked questions answered here https://soccs.hubworks.com.au/registrations/register?waitlist=true.
We would usually invite you first to take a centre tour, so you can see and experience where your child will be cared for. However, since March 2020, its part of our new COVID-19 measures to not allow centre tours, so we can minimise any potential risks brought from outside. Instead, we hold ZOOM ‘virtual tours’ so you can ask any questions to the educators and see your child’s room (please contact us for the link). We have also moved our enrolment process online. This includes; an online link replacing enrolments forms to enter all details required, PDF version of the enrolment pack including Parent Handbook, unlimited support via phone or email as needed, bond and other fees no longer accepted in cash, and more changes made.
After enrolment is finalised, your free two weeks’ orientation period begins with ‘stay and play’ sessions. This is a chance to meet your child’s teachers and discuss individual needs with them one-on-one. They can then help with settling in your child, provide you all the support needed, before your child’s official start date. Please call 9763 5020 or submit the Contact Form to get started.
